Gymnast wins gold at Challenge Cup in Germany

Gymnast Nguyen Ha Thanh has won a gold medal in the men’s parallel bars event at the Challenge Cup in Germany.

Gymnast Nguyen Ha Thanh has won a gold medal in the men’s parallel bars event at the Challenge Cup in Germany.

Thanh earned a total of 15,375 points to come first, followed by Vasileios Tsolakidis from Greece, scoring 15,300 points.

The Challenge Cup was held in Cottbus from March 21-24 with the participation of world’s top athletes. Thanh was the only Vietnamese representative at the event.

Earlier, Thanh won the silver medal in the men’s vault at the French Challenge Cup on March 17.

The World Challenge Cup series is an open category, with participation limited to two gymnasts per country and apparatus, and invitations addressed at least to the apparatus finalists of the 2012 Olympic Games and the best eight gymnasts per apparatus from the 2012 World Cup Ranking list for Individual Apparatus.
