German cargo airline launches direct flights to Hanoi - 1

According to a press conference held on November 24 in Hanoi, the airline is operating two flights per week on the route, becoming the only carrier running direct flights between the two cities.

A Boeing 777F is used for the route.

The decision on opening the air route is based on Vietnam’s impressive economic growth despite the Covid-19 pandemic. The country has become a key exporter to many European countries, including Germany.

Doan Bich Thuy, Country Manager at Lufthansa Cargo AG in Vietnam, said airports in Vietnam are expected to serve about 275.9 million passengers and handle some 4.1 million tonnes of cargo a year by 2030.

HCM City and Hanoi, the two economic hubs of the country, have seen remarkable economic growth over recent years.

After being transported to Frankfurt, goods from Vietnam will be distributed to different markets in Europe.
