People have enjoyed an extra day off for the National Day holiday, either on September 1 or September 3 since 2021. This year's National Day holiday falls on the weekend, so it will last for four days on September 1-4 or from Thursday to Sunday.

The National Day holiday schedule is applied to civil servants, public employees, and workers of administrative and public agencies, as well as political and socio-political organisations. Other workplaces may choose different holiday arrangements.
Under current regulations, if the holidays fall at the weekend, an additional day off is provided, prolonging the holiday.
