
Dozens of flights have been cancelled or delayed on October 30 and 31 due to the storm Matmo.
On routes connecting Hanoi, HCM City and Nha Trang, Vietnam Airlines cancelled flights VN1564, VN1565, VN1358, and VN1359. Meanwhile, flights VN440 and VN441 between Nha Trang and Seoul were delayed until October 31.
The airline have also cancelled flights VN1650 and VN1651 between HCM City and Phu Yen; and flights VN1396, VN1397, VN1624, and VN1625 between Hanoi, HCM City, and Quy Nhon. Some flights connecting HCM City, Danang and Da Lat were also cancelled incluidng VN1384, VN1385, VN1954, and VN1955.
The national flag carrier have also moved the departure time of some flights earlier than scheduled to avoid the storm.
To ensure safety, Jetstar Pacific have also cancelled some flights between HCM City and Phu Yen on October 30, including flights BL434 and BL435.
Both Vietnam Airlines and Jetstar Pacific said they would continue monitoring the storm and providing updates on the situation. Passengers that have plans to use airports in the affected areas are also advised to update the information.
According to the National Centre for Hydro-meteorological Forecasting, the Storm Matmo will hit some southern central province including Quang Ngai, Khanh Hoa and Ninh Thuan from October 30 afternoon.
