A fire broke out at the Thang Long Water Puppetry Theatre in Hanoi on September 8 during a performance.

Nobody was harmed in the fire, which started at 7:55pm on 57 Dinh Tien Hoang Street, Hoan Kiem District.
Neighbours reported that they heard loud booms from the electrical system before seeing sparks. The fire then quickly spread to the front of the building.
Because the theatre, located near Ngoc Son Temple and Hoan Kiem Lake, attracted the attention of many curious passers-by, who gathered outside and caused some traffic problems.

Fire covers the theatre
Firefighters arrived 15 minutes later to rescue people and control the fire from spreading to adjacent buildings. Police also came to clear the crowd and help to rescue operations.
The results of preliminary investigations seemed to have shown that the fire was caused by an electrical problem. Investigations are ongoing.
