Forest rangers at Son Tra Mountain in central Danang City are looking for a monkey that has recently attacked and injured some tourists.

An ice-cream seller around the Son Tra Mountain said that on the morning of March 17 a southern pig-tailed macaque was found attacking a foreign couple who were riding a motorbike to the Ban Co peak.
They were attacked and injured on their heels. Some local people provided them with first aid before they got down the mountain foot for further medical treatment.
The ice-cream seller said that the monkey was really aggressive.
On March 19, forest rangers in Son Tra and Ngu Hanh Son Districts started a plan to catch the monkey but they haven't been able to find it.
“If we catch the animal, we’ll release it deep into the Son Tra Mountain,” said Le Van Nhi, head of the forest ranger force in Son Tra and Ngu Hanh Son Districts.
The search is continuing.
