Phan Van Vu and her 10-year-old daughter Vu Tra My are staying at the National Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion in Hanoi for the treatment.

Vu said that My was diagnosed with the disease in early 2017. Since then, she has been staying at the hospital for the treatment.
Vu was also recently diagnosed with the same disease following unusual symptoms such as bruises on his arms and vomiting blood. He has also been taken to the National Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion.

Ly Thi Hao, head of the National Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion’s social work board, said that Vu’s condition is critical but he has refused the treatment due to his family’s financial difficulties.
Dr. Duong Thi Hung from the hospital said that Vu has started chemotherapy. Doctors arranged Vu and her daughter in the same room so that they can take care of each other.
