An obstetric department that cost VND400bn (USD17.2m) has been built at Binh Duong General Hospital. It was completed in early 2019 with equipment including air conditioners, chairs, desks and beds. However, it hasn't been opened since then.

It was transferred to Binh Duong Department of Health by the Management Board of Binh Duong Construction and Investment Projects. However Binh Duong General Department refused to accept the department because equipment wasn’t fully installed.

A Psychiatric Hospital and Binh Duong Lung Hospital are also abandoned after being completed. The projects were approved in mid-2013 and completed in 2018 but they were never put into use. They are being temporarily used as field hospitals for Covid-19 patients.

When asked, the representative of Binh Duong Department of Health said several parts were not built in accordance with the design and several low quality issues meant they couldn't accept the constructions.
