The exhibition, which was co-organised by local authorities and the cafe owner, is displaying more than 1,500 exhibits, including photos and items about vaccination campaigns, mass virus testing, large-scale disinfection, lockdown, and field hospitals.
Speaking at the exhibition opening ceremony on May 29, Chairman of the Phu Nhuan District People’s Committee Nguyen Dong Tung said that the exhibition gave a review of the implementation of the pandemic prevention and control and the hardest days during the fourth wave of Covid-19 in 2021, and paid a tribute to the frontline forces in the struggle to control the outbreak.
The cafe owner, Huynh Minh Hiep, said that he had the idea of collecting the items and photos about the Covid-19 pandemic for an exhibition when participating in community anti-Covid activities in HCM City last year.
"I wanted to give myself and other people a chance to look back at the hard days we lived through during the pandemic," he said. "There are so many memorable stories behind these photos and items."
Hiep shared that he has been recognised by the Vietnam Guinness Organisation as having the biggest collection of items relating to the Covid-19 pandemic in the country.
