Eight Vietnamese businesspeople have been selected to attend the 2016 Global Entrepreneurship Summit which will be held in California on June 22-24.

Eight Vietnamese businesspeople have been selected to attend the 2016 Global Entrepreneurship Summit (GES) which will be held in California on June 22-24.

The attendees include Bui Hai An (founder of Silicon Straits Saigon), Nguyen Thi Thuy Trang (founder of Emwear Lounge & Sleepwear), Pham Tan Phuc (founder of Gcall Vietnam Pte Ltd), Dao Xuan Hoang (founder of Monkey Junior), Nguyen Trung Nguyen (founder of Ask Doctors), Nguyen Ngoc Diep (marketing manager of Beeketing), Nguyen Minh Thuy (founder of iMed), and Nguyen Ba Hoi (founder of FabLab Danang).

They are among young Vietnamese entrepreneurs invited to take part in the entrepreneurship event hosted by the US President Barack Obama during his visit to HCM City on May 25.

The Vietnamese representatives will have a chance to meet more than 700 entrepreneurs, investors, speakers as well as corporate leaders from different countries in the world.

They will also have a meeting with the US President Obama, the US Secretary of Commerce, USAIDS Administrator Gayle Smith as well as some other US officials.

GES is intended to inspire entrepreneurs and investors worldwide, offering new opportunities for investment, partnership, and collaboration, while highlighting entrepreneurship as a means to deal with some of the most intractable global challenges.

This year is the 7th GES hosted by the United States and the governments of Turkey, the United Arab Emirates, Malaysia, Morocco, and Kenya.
