Eight people, including two children, were injured when a garbage truck ran out of control after its brakes apparently failed as it came down Doan Ket Slope in Vinh Hung Ward, Hoang Mai District, in Hanoi yesterday (February 22).

It destroyed one motorbike, damaged several others, toppled an electricity pole and wrecked a gate, as it careened down the slope before coming to stop after hitting the wall of a garage.
The eight injured were taken to hospital for treatment. Police are investigating the exact cause of the accident.
