Eight people are found to have illegally entered Phu Quoc island district on a ship on December 12.
Four Chinese and four Cambodian nationals were found when officers at the Duong Dong Port Border Gate checked a ship on December 12. They all failed to show legitimate documents for entering Vietnam.
The ship was still anchored at a port at Dinh Cau Cape.
Authorities have refused to announce more details while investigations are underway.
