Eight tourist bungalows built without permission in Ham Ninh Commune are removed on October 31.
The move came after an inspection by local authorities found that the illicitly-built tourist bungalows were within the Phu Quoc marine protected area.

The structures which cover 524 square metres were constructed with concrete pillars firmly planted into the ground below the water and connected to the shore via a wooden boardwalk.
The project owner, Mai Trung Dung, had been warned of his illegal construction on November 27, 2019, when local authorities asked for the removal of the project and a return of the seabed in the affected marine protected areas to their original state but he failed to implement the changes by October 30, 2022.
The Phu Quoc marine protected area, belonging to the Phu Quoc National Park covers more than 40,000 hectares, including 7,087 hectares under strict protection.
