Editor's letter: Official launch of DTiNews

It is with great excitement that we prepare to launch our full-English version of Dan Tri in time for the New Year.

Dear readers,

It is with great enthusiasm and excitement that we prepare to launch our official, full-English version of Dan Tri in time for the New Year. This version will cover all the top stories in Vietnam and internationally, as well as continue meeting our goals of helping the community through our charitable works and journalism.

Beginning on January 1, 2010, our official website, www.DTiNews.com, will exit beta mode and be fully available to the public. During our testing of DTiNews.com, we have seen an impressive increase of interest and readership from around the globe. We have also received an enormous amount of help and support from dynamic contributors, ranging from local Vietnamese to overseas Vietnamese, as well as foreigners living in Vietnam and abroad.

We would like to thank contributing writers Laura Lam, Virginie Servant, Merete Jensen and Dennis Bissonnette for their high-quality and insightful works that have added a personal touch to DTiNews, making it much more than just a regular news source.

Learning from our success and working directly with Dan Tri, we aim to build on our reputation as a highly regarded and extremely credible news source for all of your information needs. Through our ever-expanding network of collaborators around the world, we also aim to turn DTiNews into a global forum that reflects many different angles on issues relating to Vietnam and the world.

Moreover, we hope that by extending our reach further out to the world, we will be able to expand our contribution in promoting education and charity in general, as well as in Vietnam. As a member of the Vietnam Association for Promoting Education, Dan Tri has taken a leading role in Vietnam by boosting the quality and social participation of education. Our Compassionate Hearts Charity Fund has become one of the most highly regarded charitable causes in the country, thanks to its discipline, transparency, and ability to reach the most hard-to-find-yet-desperately-in-need people. The fund has gained the trust and significant contributions from many kindhearted people around Vietnam as well as many other countries, and we strive to inform even more people about it.

It is our pleasure to welcome you in joining us as we extend our reach into the international and English-speaking world. We strive to attract English-speaking people with an interest in Vietnam, English-speakers living in Vietnam, and also to be a platform for our extensive network of current readers, Vietnamese citizens, Vietnamese living overseas, and foreigners worldwide.

As we welcome 2010, it is an honour to officially unveil our new website at www.dtinews.com. We welcome you to enjoy, browse, read and leave any comments, feedback or suggestions you desire to editor@dtinews.com. Thank you for your continued support and Happy New Year.

Kind regards,

Pham Huy Hoan
