Doctor prosecuted for dumping woman's body into river

On November 1, a leader Hanoi Police said they have begun prosecution of Tuong for violating healthcare regulations and unlawfully moving a human corpse in accordance with the Penal Code.The salon's guard, Dao Quang Khanh is also under prosecution for unlawfully moving a human corpse.

The Hanoi People's Procuracy has also signed an arrest warrant for the two men.

Lawyer, Ta Quoc Cuong, from the Hanoi Bar Association said that with there is now enough evidence to prosecute. "Once the body is found, investigators may find it suitable to add charges in this case," he said.

Tuong now faces a 15-year prison sentence for violating healthcare regulations and five more years for unlawfully moving a human corpse. Khanh also faces a five-year sentence.

Previously, Dr. Nguyen Manh Tuong, owner of Cat Tuong Beauty Salon on Giai Phong Street, accidentally killed a 39-year-old woman when carrying out breast surgery and Tuong took the body to Vinh Tuy Bridge and dumped her into the Red River. Meanwhile, it has also been discovered that the Hanoi Department of Health that his salon was not licensed to perform surgery.

Dao Quang Khanh, one of the security guards at the Cat Tuong Salon, is accused of having helped Tuong dump the body into river. The victim's body has yet to be found.
