The city’s Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism said on January 29 it had responded to public complaints over security and environmental management at the beach.

Residents reported late-night gatherings, littering and delayed waste collection, with social media posts showing syringes found on the beach and similar incidents along Ho Xuan Huong Street, posing safety risks.
According to the department, the Son Tra Peninsula and Danang Beaches Management Board has received the complaints and will deploy additional personnel to step up inspections and handle violations. It has also instructed the river and marine environmental company to promptly collect waste and ensure environmental safety.
Regarding complaints about deteriorating public toilets along the beachfront and foul odours, authorities said plans to upgrade and build new facilities are under way, with completion expected by the end of the year.
In the meantime, inspections and sanitation oversight will be enhanced, with operators encouraged to clean more frequently to minimise inconvenience and safeguard the city’s tourism image.
