Trieu Duc Cuong from the Dao ethnic minority group, a 10th-grade student from Hoang Su Phi District, is being treated at the Hanoi Medical University Hospital after experiencing mediastinal tumour surgery.

On February 25, the newspaper granted the donation of VND187.91 million for the boy’s family.

Trieu Mui Phin, Cuong’s mother, expressed her great thanks to the newspapers and donors for the support.

Phin said that she had also received the donation of VND70 million from the public through her bank account.

Cuong was diagnosed with a mediastinal tumour three months ago after his hemoptysis. He was taken to the Hanoi Medical University Hospital with serious respiratory failure. The tumour was quite big, causing atelectasis as well as lung and heart failure.
