Pham Anh Thang, the office representative of the Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs in HCM City, and Dantri representative transferred the ventilators to Eastern People Military Hospital on August 9
Three of the ventilators were given to the Eastern People's Military Hospital. Colonel Nguyen Tuan, deputy head of the Eastern People's Military Hospital, said ventilators are important equipment in Covid-19 treatment.
"We only had two ventilators so the gift is meaningful amid the rising number of patients and seriously ill patients," he said.
Director Assistant Vo Hong Dong said they would put the ventilators into use immediately. The hospital with 400 employees are treating 450 patients, many of whom are in serious condition.

Pham Van Hieu, party secretary cum chairman of Can Tho City People's Council, thanked the donors for their help. As of now, Can Tho has reported over 2,300 cases. Can Tho Central General Hospital treated both Covid-19 patients and other people with different diseases. Despite many efforts, they are still in short of medical supplies so every help is appreciated.
As the number of Covid-19 patients has increased, many of them already had breathing difficulties upon being admitted to the hospital.
Dr Pham Thanh Phong said, "The new ventilators are compact and can be moved around easily to patients as quickly as possible."
Tran Thanh Binh, chairman of Binh Thuy District People's Committee, said, "I want to express gratitude to everyone that helped and contributed to the fight against Covid-19 in Binh Thuy District in particular and in Vietnam in general."
