The new Lang Co Kindergarten cost over VND1 billion and included funding from the Tam Chuc Tourism Services Company, individuals and local authorities following a story published on Dantri/Dtinews that described how the old school burnt down seven months ago. Many readers have sent donations to help rebuild the school for the poor ethnic Dao children.

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the new school, the director of Yen Bai Provincial Department of Education and Training, Vuong Van Bang sent his sincere thanks to donors for their help to build such a beautiful school.

"The students here are all from the ethnic Dao Group," he said. "They are poor and this is the only kindergarten in the area. We couldn’t afford to build a new one due to limited finances."

One of the donors for the project, Chu Xuan Canh, said that he knew about the situation of the students here through a story on Dantri Newspaper and decided to help.

"We urged the contractor to speed up the project so that students would have a new school when the cold winter came," Canh said. "And finally it has been completed just in time. I hope that this present will help both teachers and students."

At the opening ceremony of the new school, Dantri/Dtinews also gave the school VND 65,983,236 to help them upgrade facilities, buy new equipment, and present scholarships to 58 students.
