Danang City has set up seven checkpoints along major roads that enter the city in order to check the body temperature of the travellers.

Danang sets up seven Covid-19 checkpoints

On March 16, Nguyen Tien Hong, deputy director of Danang Department of Health said the city police and health sector had worked together at the checkpoints in accordance with the directives from the Ministry of Public Security.

The seven checkpoints will be set up on Truong Sa, Tran Dai Nghia, Danang Station, Hoa Phuoc and Hoa Vang communes and the end of Hai Van Mountain Pass and Hai Van Tunnel. The state employees will take shifts at the checkpoints 24/7.

Vehicles will be pulled over and all travellers will have their body temperatures checked.

Foreign visitors will be asked to fill e-medical declarations. Suspected passengers must fill out a health form on the spot. Passengers will a fever will be transferred to the Hospital 199 under the Ministry of Public Security.

Hong said this was a preliminary method to prevent the spread of the outbreak and they would have a more detailed plan in the future.
