Besides placing a signboard saying “no” to children under 12, the Dream House Coffee shop has also posted a status on their Facebook fanpage explaining their new regulations.

"We're opening a space where people can get a drink and work, read books, and paint at the same time," their status wrote. "However, we don't have spaces for children to play, and our staff members are not trained to keep children. We've been receiving complaints from some customers who said they were disturbed by children running around and making loud noises. We're sorry we have to issue this new regulation and focus on serving certain groups of customers."

The cafe's regulations have become a hot topic of debate on certain social media websites. Some people complain that the coffee shop is causing discrimination and that customers of all ages should be served fairly.

However, many others support the cafe's decision, saying that businesses have the right to serve certain groups of customers, and that children sometimes cause trouble if not properly watched by caretakers in public places.

"I usually discuss work with partners or read books at coffee shops and so I prefer those with quiet spaces," one Facebook user commented.

Talking with DanTri/DTiNews, the cafe owner, Nguyen Dinh Tin said that they had considered the decision carefully before applying the new regulations about children.

The cafe owner Nguyen Dinh Tin shares about his regulations.

"We've prepared for getting opposing opinions," he said. "However, we'll go [ahead] with our decision. We want to focus on those who love nature and quiet atmospheres, as we have [done] over the past three years. We've designed the cafe with open space where people can enjoy beautiful natural sceneries, take photos, paint, and read books. And we don't want them to be disturbed by naughty children."
