According to initial information, the incident occurred early this morning, August 8, in Village 14, Dak Sin Commune when soil and stones from a nearby eroded hill hit Tran Van Hieu’s house following torrential rain.

Hieu, 28, his wife, 25, and their three-year-old daughter have been buried.

Le Trong Yen, director of the provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, said that many people along with machinery had been deployed in the rescue.

However, heavy rains and difficult terrain had slowed the rescue work.
