Hundreds of children in a poor commune in the Central Highlands province of Dak Lak are in desperate need of financial support to have a proper school.
A village's meeting room has been used as classroom for kindergarten children in Dak Lak Province for 13 years
Over the past 13 years, hundreds of students of the Hoa Thien Ly Kindergarten had to borrow some meeting rooms in the commune to study. Many of these facilities have seriously deteriorated.
The classroom is poorly equipped
According to teacher Ton Nu Thu Nga, the 400 or so students are mostly from the Tay, Nung, Mong, Cao Lan, and E De ethnic groups.
"Our school is located in the district's centre but parents of these students can’t take their children there due to the distance and difficult mountainous roads," the teacher said. "So we've decided to borrow the meeting rooms of local villages and organise nine classes for children there."
The teacher said that teachers and students faced lots of difficulties studying at these facilities because they lack restrooms, dining rooms, and many other supporting rooms for their studies.
"At a class in Village 9, the room has seriously deteriorated with poor equipment," the teacher said. "The WC has no water. We have proposed to the local authorities to build a proper school for the children here."

Chairman of the Vu Bon Communal People's Committee, Tran Van Sau, said that they have spared a 1,000-square-metre land plot for a school project but lack funding for the construction.
"We hope to receive financial support from the public to have better facilities for the children to study," the official said.
