According to Doan Toan Buu, vice chairman of the Dong Thap People’s Committee, the patient died at Sa Dec General Hospital this morning, July 2.

The woman, Patient 16340, from Ward 1 in Sa Dec City was taken to the hospital on June 8 and diagnosed with pneumonia and acute kidney failure. She also faced diabetes, high blood pressure and ischemic heart disease.
On June 27, she tested positive for Covid-19 by the real-time PCR method and was brought to the hospital’s isolation area for the treatment.
She then underwent appetite, breath difficulty and lung damage.
On July 1, Sa Dec General Hospital co-operated with the HCM City Hospital for Tropical Diseases to hold a consultation on her case, but she failed to respond to the intensive treatment and died.
