A couple living in Nghe An Province has just been given the title of the oldest living couple in Vietnam by the Vietnam Records Organisation.
Cao Vien is 106 years old and his wife, Vu Thi Hai, is 100 years old. They live in Village 2, Dien Chau District. According to the Vietnam Records Organisation, the both are still healthy and alert. Cao Vien wrote a poem to the organisation.

Vien and his wife have eight children and about 34 grandchildren. Their oldest grandchild is now 54 years old. When asked for tips for longevity, the couple said keeping your mind active and and regular exercise were their only secrets.
Cao Thi Que, their youngest daughter, said, "My father likes to listen to the radio and write poems. When we're busy, they still help us with cooking. We are very lucky to have them around and healthy."
With advancements in technology, the number of people that lives to be 100 or more is increasing, however it's rare that both husband and wife share such a long life together.
Representatives of Vietnam Records Organisation said they will give certificates to the couple and ask the Asia Book of Records and the Guinness World Records to recognise Vien and Hai as the oldest living couple.
