Hoang Long Company suddenly confiscated dozens of taxis at its branch in Can Tho City to move them to HCM City, leaving many drivers jobless.

On April 23, when around 30 drivers of the company's Can Tho City branch were controlling cars, they received an order to end their shifts and hand over the cars for the company to transfer them to HCM City.
Many drivers said they had signed a two-year contract with the company, therefore, the firm should have informed them in advance, and that the company was still liable for employing them.
Hoang Long has moved 35 taxi cars from Can Tho City to HCM City. On April 23, it planned to transfer another 15.
Thai Van Duc, Director of Taxi Saigon Hoang Long Ltd. Company, said, “Over the past two years, Hoang Long’s taxi branch in Can Tho has operated at a loss so the company has to shift cars from Can Tho to HCM City. We will explain this to all the drivers and ensure that the affected drivers are looked after.”
The Can Tho branch has operated for more than two years with 115 cars and 180 drivers.
