Vu Anh Cuong, former director of Dat Lanh Real Estate Company in HCM City, admitted that he had drunk when he harassed a female passenger sat next to him in the business-class seats on flight VN253 from Hanoi to HCM City.

The chief flight attendant helped the victim and then reported the case to the captain who requested the man be removed from the flight.
According to the Northern Airports Authority, the young woman who was sexually assaulted has not yet filed any complaints to Cuong over the incident so the agency fined him VND10 million, the highest possible fine for unacceptable behaviour against flight attendants and passengers.
