Local authorities have extracted the body of Aiden Webb, a British tourist who went missing for a week in Sapa, from a ravine and transferred him to his family waiting in Sapa Town on June 10.

His body has been transferred to Sapa General Hospital at 4.20pm. After the initial autopsy was carried out at the scene, the rescue team transferred his body to the town via cable system.
Senior Lieutenant Colonel Le Anh Dung, deputy head of the police in Sapa Town said, "The rescue team started to bring his body out of the ravine at 11.30am. Lao Cai Province’s forensic team will check his body again. After that, we'll return his body to the family."
Authorities of Sapa District will hold a press conference on the search and cause of death on June 11. Representative of the police of Sapa Town said Aiden died from severe injuries.
The British Embassy in Vietnam sent a vehicle to Sapa in order to bring Aiden's body to Hanoi's Noi Bai Airport and on to the UK.
Aiden Webb went missing while trekking Fansipan Mountain. He suffered injuries and fell into a deep ravine. He called his girlfriend and sent her images of his location but she lost all contact with him at 6am on June 4. According to the rescue team, Aiden had died days ago. The searchers struggled to access the body as the ravine was steep and dangerous.
