Addressing a recent meeting, Director of HCM City Transport Department, Tran Quang Lam asked the centre to arrange separate lanes for bikes in the city centre and along the metro line.
"Bike lanes should also be opened around tourist areas, shopping centres, and roads that have easy access to public transport," Lam said.
The centre has been required to submit the study to the department by July 30 so that the project can be completed within this year.
