The street is 1.50 kilometres long, starting from the intersection of Phan Xich Long and Phan Dang Luu streets to Van Kiep Street and some neighbouring areas. It is home to 250 stalls and restaurants of both domestic and international brands.
The street’s pavement has been resurfaced, and part of the pavement will be used as a paid parking lot. It also has a new lighting system and electric buses will be available.
The food street will open until midnight every day.
The HCM City Department of Industry and Trade has recently proposed a project to develop a food town along Phan Xich Long Street.
The project is part of the night-time economy development plan put forward by Phu Nhuan District, with the street projected to become a food town by 2025 on a trial basis.
The city also opened Ha Ton Quyen Food Street in District 11 during the 2024 New Year Holiday. The Nguyen Thuong Hien Food Street has run since late 2022.
The municipal tourism sector hopes to create more places to stimulate the city’s nightlife.
