Health workers take samples for Covid-19 testing in Danang City.
The newly found patients included 34 in Danang City, four in Lang Son Province, two in Bac Giang Province and one imported case from Russia.
Patients numbered from 673-678 are six family members in the two northern provinces of Bac Giang and Lang Son. They visited Danang City last month. All of them, aged between 10-41, have been quarantined and treated at the Hanoi-based National Hospital for Tropical Diseases.
Patient 679 is a 44-year old man. He returned from Russia to Tan Son Nhat International Airport in Ho Chi Minh City on July 11 and was sent to quarantine in Ba Ria-Vung Tau Province upon arrival. He is now being treated at the Ba Ria Hospital.
Patients numbered from 680-713 are residents in Danang City who are between 1-75 years of age.
They include 14 people who had close contact with a patient in Danang Hospital who later tested positive for the virus, 10 patients in Danang Hospital, seven people who are relatives of patients at the hospital, a health worker at the Danang Maternity and Paediatrics Hospital, a police officer assigned to guard a hospitalised prisoner and a case in Lien Chieu District.
Three more Covid-19 patients were discharged from a hospital in Ninh Binh Province on August 5, raising the number of recoveries in the country to 381, the committee said.
At present, as many as 120,041 people are being monitored at centralised quarantine areas, at hospitals or at home.
