At 9.30 pm, the traffic police in Ha Tinh Province pulled over a suspicious passenger bus owned by the Hoang Long Company on Highway 1A. They found a box with 19 monkey heads, 900 bird nest bottles of unknown origin, imported formula milk and 12 packages of interior lighting worth hundreds of millions of VND.
The driver Pham Ngoc Quynh failed to provide necessary papers for the items. He admitted transporting the goods to traders in the north.
The case is under investigation.
In April, the customs officers and border guards at Cau Treo Border Gate, Ha Tinh Province, also discovered a 10kg deer, 1.5kg bamboo rat and five animals that were suspected to be weasels while inspecting the commodities. The wild animals were killed and had their organs removed.
