On Wednesday, the HCM City Department of Construction hosted a seminar on planning for the Saigon River area. At the event, Nguyen Huu Thang, a representative of the joint venture between Thu Duc Maritime Corporation and Scene Plus Architecture Co., Ltd., suggested the development of a film park.

According to the proposal, the film park will span 5 hectares, beginning at the Thu Thiem Tunnel and extending some 800 metres downstream along the Saigon River. It will be located directly opposite Nha Rong Wharf and Saigon Port.
Thang added that the park concept was a concrete step toward realising the HCM City authorities' plans to develop 42 parks along the Saigon River.
The park will include seven key zones: An Old Saigon-themed film studio and cinematic experience area, an exhibition and film museum, and a themed commercial and service area. The remaining areas will accommodate an event stage for film festivals, a marina, and a cinema complex.
The park will also host cultural and film festivals and events and will be home to restaurants, coffee shops, and creative spaces.
