The wood-decked bridge, inaugurated in 2019 in Vinh Thuan Ward, Hue City, cost VND64 billion (USD2.52 million). It spans 450 metres in length and four metres in width and connects Nguyen Dinh Chieu Pedestrian Street with Ly Tu Trong Park.

The bridge has become a popular check-in spot for both tourists and locals. However, due to its location along the Huong River and its proximity to the water’s surface, it is often submerged during the flood season.

Notably, in recent times, multiple sections of the bridge’s surface have exhibited signs of deterioration.

Numerous wooden planks on the bridge’s surface have rotted, with some broken or fractured.

According to Nguyen Quy Thuan, a Hue resident who frequently runs on the bridge, its deterioration has posed safety hazards for visitors.

Truong Dinh Hanh, Vice Chairman of Thuan Hoa District, stated that local authorities have urged the Thuan Hoa District Park and Greenery Centre to expedite repairs on the bridge to ensure safety and preserve its aesthetic appeal.
