Some schools in the city have decided to close on Tuesday morning to ensure student safety.

Statistics from local authorities showed that localities from Danang to Quang Ngai recorded a total rainfall of between 100 mm and 250 mm from 4 am on November 5.

Quang Tri Province has also faced serious inundation due to heavy rain since November 4.

According to the National Centre for Hydrometeorological Forecasting, localities in central Vietnam will experience widespread heavy rain and thunderstorms from November 3 due to the impact of high-altitude easterly wind disturbances combined with intensified cold air from the north.

Localities from Thanh Hoa to Quang Ngai are anticipated to endure widespread heavy rain and thunderstorms with rainfall of 70-150mm or even 300mm within hours.

The centre also warned that heavy rain will raise the water levels of local rivers to the third alert level, which may trigger widespread flooding from Ha Tinh to Binh Dinh.
