After more than two hours of flight on December 27, a 32-year-old Vietnamese passenger experienced health issues, suffering from low blood pressure, with symptoms including cold extremities.

The flight crew called for assistance from a nurse who was a passenger on the flight, and later knew that the sick passenger required immediate medical attention to prevent life-threatening consequences.

The crew immediately consulted Vietnam Airlines’ operational control center and decided to divert and landed at Taoyuan Airport at 1:27 PM on December 27 to provide emergency medical assistance.

Upon landing, Vietnam Airlines’ Taiwan service promptly took the passenger to the hospital for medial support. The passenger underwent tests and health monitoring at the hospital.

Flight VN307 then resumed its journey to Ho Chi Minh City, arriving 3 hours and 10 minutes later than scheduled.

Vietnam Airlines has previously made several emergency landings to provide timely support for passengers facing serious health issues, despite the significant costs associated with fuel and ground services.
