The northern region of Vietnam will experience heavy rain starting this evening, May 15.
According to the National Centre for Hydrometeorological Forecasting, the rainfall would be 20-120 mm.
Warnings of flash floods and landslides have been issued for mountainous localities during rain, including Muong Ang, Dien Bien Dong and Tuan Giao districts in Dien Bien Province; Meo Vac, Yen Minh and Xin Man districts in Ha Giang Province and Bao Lac, Bao Lam and Nguyen Binh districts in Cao Bang Province.
Northern localities have been asked to closely monitor weather warnings and forecasts to remind locals and prepare preventive measures.
The rain would last until the end of Thursday, the centre said.
Meanwhile, the Central Highlands and southern regions will also have rain from this evening, with the highest rainfall of 700 mm in some areas.
