
Early this afternoon, June 7, HCM City saw downpours which lasted for more than one hour, putting many local streets under water.

The area around Thu Duc Market in Thu Duc City has been hardest hit; being built in low-lying land.

Duong Van Cam Street was deeply submerged, causing many vehicles to stall.

Kha Van Can Street faced the same situation.

The floodwaters carried along dead animal carcasses that floated in the streets around the Thu Duc Market area.

Traders were affected by the flooding.

People tried to clear the accumulated waste from drains on To Ngoc Van Street to allow the water to flow.

Residents used barriers to prevent water from entering their homes.

Manhole covers were removed to help the water drain faster.

The Southern Regional Meteorological Station forecasted that HCM City would continue witnessing rain in the days to come.
