According to Tan Binh Commune People’s Committee, two locals spotted a crocodile in the Lo Duong Canal at around 4.20 pm on May 18.
According to them, the crocodile was around one metre long and weighed around 25 kilograms. Startled by a loud noise, the reptile moved away and disappeared into the canal.

The incident was then reported to local authorities.
Tan Binh Commune People’s Committee have urged residents to stay alert following the crocodile sighting. Children must not be allowed to swim in the Lo Duong Canal or nearby waterways, and residents are also advised not to fish or set nets along the canal banks.
People need to inform local authorities immediately if they spot a crocodile.
The committee is coordinating with concerned agencies to catch the reptile.
