The elevated section of Hanoi’s Nhon-Hanoi Station metro line (Metro Line 3) is scheduled for operation from tomorrow, August 8.
According to Vu Hong Truong, director of Hanoi Metro, all preparations for the operation have been finished.

Ten trains have been tested on the elevated section since May, and all meet technical requirements.
In the first 15 days of the pilot run, passengers will be offered the rides free of charge. After that, the ticket price will be VND12,000 VND per person, while the daily ticket is VND24,000.
The monthly ticket price will be similar to the Cat Linh-Ha Dong metro route (Metro line 2A), VND200,000 per person. For students, the cost will be VND100,000.
The Metro Line 3 trains will run from 5.30 am to 10 pm daily. In the first three months, the frequency will be one train every 10 minutes, and after this period, it will be one train every six minutes during peak hours.
A representative from Hanoi Metro said that the company will use its experience operating the Metro Line 2A to operate the Metro Line 3.
Hanoi has planned to build a pedestrian tunnel crossing below Hao Nam Street, permitting passengers to go from Cat Linh Station on Metro Line 2A to Metro Line 3's S10 underground station.
As many as 524 people will be employed on the Metro Line 3. Part of the Metro Line 2A staff will support the Metro Line 3.
The Metro Line 3, the second to be operational in Hanoi is 12.5 kilometres long. The elevated section, which connects Nhon Town and Cau Giay District, is 8.5 km long, and the underground section, which links Cau Giay District and Hanoi Station, is 4km long.
