The prime minister has approved the adjustment of Lang Van (Van Village), a tourism and resort complex project in Lien Chieu District. The project's total area will be reduced from 1,067 to 512 hectares.

The project is situated in Hoa Hiep Bac Ward at the foot of Hai Van Pass. It can currently be only reached by foot and waterway.

Many households have been relocated to make way for the project. Local authorities are now processing the relocation of the remaining nine households.

Despite not residing here, many people let their livestock roam freely.

Some areas in Van Village have suffered erosion.

According to the Lien Chieu District People's Committee, the Van Village tourism and resort complex is planned as a world-class eco-tourism and luxury resort destination. It will also include a smart urban area, commercial services, and a seamlessly integrated technical infrastructure harmonising with the natural landscape.

Once operational, the project will accommodate 19,000 people, including 18,000 permanent residents and around 1,000 temporary residents.

The complext will be built under the foot of Hai Van Pass. It lies adjacent to the North-South railway, which passes through the pass.
