Vietnam's Ministry of Construction has approved a proposal by Ho Chi Minh City authorities to introduce bus services connecting Long Thanh International Airport in Dong Nai Province with Tan Son Nhat International Airport.
The new routes are intended to meet growing demand for passenger travel and airport transfers while strengthening transport links between the two major aviation hubs and surrounding areas of Ho Chi Minh City.

The ministry also instructed local authorities to work closely with the operators of both airports to provide convenient pick-up and drop-off locations at passenger terminals. It called for clear directional signage and measures to ensure security, safety and easy access for travellers.
Earlier, the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee proposed introducing 13 new bus routes and adjusting the routes of four existing services to improve access to Long Thanh and Tan Son Nhat airports.
The proposed routes would provide direct connections between the two airports and central Ho Chi Minh City, Binh Duong Province and the former Ba Ria-Vung Tau Province. Additional services have also been proposed linking the airports with Bau Bang, Long Hai, Phuoc Hai and Ho Tram.
The operator of Long Thanh International Airport has proposed establishing five designated passenger pick-up and drop-off areas within the airport. Depending on the final operating plan, these locations would serve either as route termini or intermediate stops.
The planned airport bus network will consist of two main service types. The first will be conventional bus routes with multiple stops, designed to integrate the airport into the wider urban public transport network through fixed services.
The second will comprise dedicated airport shuttle buses with limited stops, operating frequent services to minimise travel times between the airports and key transport hubs.
