Police in Dong Hung Thuan Ward said the incident occurred on June 16 when Kitkin Daniil, a 24-year-old Russian national, reported that he had left several valuable belongings in a taxi.
Daniil told officers that his mobile phone was still transmitting a location signal within the ward, helping authorities trace the vehicle and identify the driver.
The driver later checked the taxi and found the missing items, including an iPhone 17 Pro, a Michael Kors watch, a ring, a bracelet and Bluetooth earphones.
After verifying ownership, police returned the belongings to Daniil.
The tourist and his companions expressed their gratitude to police officers and the taxi driver for their assistance in recovering the items.
