A high-altitude fireworks show took place at the Saigon River Tunnel in Thu Duc City at 9 pm, while a low-altitude fireworks display went off at the Dam Sen Cultural Park in District 11.
Thousands of people gathered on Ton Duc Thang Street in District 2 to enjoy the fireworks.
Many foreigners also joined the event.
A five-minute drone performance was also held in HCM City before the fireworks shows.
Young people took photos with the fireworks.
Children were taken to see the fireworks.
