Ly Hai Hoang Tan from the central province of Thua Thien-Hue runs an ice cream production facility in Hanoi.

Tan said he got the idea of making ice cream in the shape of famous tourist destinations in Hanoi during a trip to China. He was impressed by the ice cream featuring Chinese landmarks, so he decided to do the same when he returned to Hanoi.

Tan's ice creams are made with powder imported from Italy and Thailand and Vietnamese fruits such as avocados, durians, mangoes, and bananas.

According to Tan, he started making ice cream in 2018 and has been creating ice creams in the shape of Hanoi's tourist sites since 2023.

"I have to visit each place, observe, and develop design ideas for ice cream," Tan added.

It takes him 2-4 hours to make a landmark-themed ice cream stick retailing for around VND20,000.

Most of Tan's customers are young people and tourists.
