Lam Dong rolls out tourism incentives amid airport closure

Lam Dong Province has launched a tourism stimulus programme, including discounts for road travellers, as it seeks to offset the temporary closure of Lien Khuong International Airport for upgrades.

The province aims to attract 25.8 million visitors in 2026 through a package of incentives, new tourism products and marketing campaigns, according to the provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

From July, transport operators, hotels, restaurants, attractions and other tourism businesses are being encouraged to offer discounts, while travellers arriving by road will receive promotional packages with discounts of 20-30 per cent.

The province also plans to develop new overland tours linking major destinations and expand regional travel packages combining coastal, highland and heritage attractions.

Authorities said Lam Dong would continue promoting eco-tourism, wellness, golf, cultural, agricultural and MICE tourism, while stepping up digital marketing in key international markets, including China, South Korea, Japan, ASEAN, Europe, North America, India and the Middle East.

The province will also host major events, including the 11th Dalat-Lam Dong Flower Festival and the LangBiang International Music Festival 2026, to attract more visitors.
