According to the Xuan Huong-Dalat People’s Committee worked with relevant agencies to plant 200 cherry blossom trees in parks and along major roads as part of efforts to beautify the urban environment, create tourism highlights and protect the environment.

The planting forms part of the cherry blossom planting campaign launched to mark the 2026 Dalat Cherry Blossom Festival which is being held at Lam Vien-Dat Lat Square.
Tran Thi Vu Loan, chairwoman of the Xuan Huong-Dalat Ward People’s Committee, said the initiative would improve the landscape and foster community efforts to preserve the values of the “city of mist”.
Most of the trees planted under the campaign are around five years old, making them suitable for care and able to quickly create scenery across the city, local officials said.

Dalat’s cherry blossom trees, with plum-like trunks and pale pink, five-petalled flowers, typically bloom from late December to February, depending on the weather, and last about a month.
On January 16, the Lam Dong Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism opened the 2026 Dalat Cherry Blossom Festival at Lam Vien Square in Xuan Huong-Dalat Ward. The festival runs until January 30 and features a range of cultural programmes.
