In the evening, streets in the centre, such as Dong Khoi, Nguyen Hue, Le Loi, Le Duan, as well as other public places, such as trade centres, supermarkets and buildings with Christmas decorations have attracted a large number of young people; friends, family members and lovers who come to take photos.
They pose like models in front of their cameras and mobile phones.
Despite the crowds, people still spilled onto the streets to share in the excitement, dressed in their best clothes and wearing make-up, in order to capture a special moment.
Nguyen Quynh Trang, a 19 year-old from District 1, said that she and her friends have gone out to a number of streets just to take pictures.
Ngoc, a second-year student of the Economics University of Ho Chi Minh City, said she and her boyfriend took a few photos, but were more interested in people-watching and soaking in the atmosphere.
Many parents also took their children outside to join in the festivities and appreciate the decorations.
