Hoan Kiem Ward has taken over sites from 12 of 17 organisations and 38 of 43 households and has begun demolition to make way for the square on the eastern side of Hoan Kiem Lake. The owner of the nine-storey luxury hotel is expected to hand over the site later in February.

Regarding progress on the investment project to build the square and park, all 17 organisations and 42 of 43 households have agreed to compensation, support and resettlement plans. The remaining household is under review by city authorities.

The People’s Committee of Hoan Kiem Ward has approved all compensation and resettlement plans and issued land recovery decisions for the 17 organisations and 43 households. Site clearance is scheduled for completion in March.

The square and park project east of Hoan Kiem Lake will cover more than 2.1 hectares, with a total investment of over VND 2.84 trillion (USD 111.6 million).
