Tay Tuu Village in Bac Tu Liem District is home to 300 hectares of flowers, mostly supplying Hanoi and the city’s neighbouring localities.

Phan Huu, a senior flower grower in Tay Tuu, said he prioritises the good daisies every morning when pruning back substandard blossoms. It takes 3-4 months to harvest the daisies. His garden currently has some 30,000 daisy flowers.

Many greenhouses planted daisies around a month ago, and the flowers have grown 30-50 cm. While other households have just started a new crop.

Roses and lilies are also popular flowers provided by Tay Tuu people on Tet.

Traders also buy directly from the flower fields. Nguyen Khac Tuyen said that his family has sold part of his daisy field for VND100,000 per bunch of 50 flowers. The remainder will be used for Tet.
